Free I-Ching reading.

Got an important question/issue you are wrestling with?

Love?

Business?

Family?

Post your question here in the comments section and I will endeavour to consult the wisdom of the  I-ching on your behalf, as soon as possible and impart an answer on how the situation is at present, how it will change and what it will change to. The I advises how best to follow the lines of least resistance in order to best flow with the time.

I have been studying the I for about 7 years and am far from an expert but do have a level of understanding which can genuinely help people.

I use the three coin method of divination. I have never known the I to be wrong in it’s divinations.

Cast thy question.

  1. Hi, I just came upon your blog from a string of research on ayahuasca for a trip I will be taking to Peru in the coming months and then I noticed this section and decided to give it a try. I have had some certain personal dilemmas that I have been troubled with and if you have anything to say that may in fact lead my direction then all the better and more proof of the universal plan.

My perspective on all that is was changed about a year and a half ago when I first had a psychedelic experience on psilocybe mushrooms, from then I have continued to experiment with psychedelics, namely mushrooms and lsd, although all with a pure intent of a ever deepening “journey of divinity” one could say. I have found the study of yoga to be the path I need to be able to reach peaks of my mind and to learn to become more than myself and I strive in my daily life to become a more loving pure person. My real dilemma is with the ego’s hold on me. It seems even when I want to do the right thing, it seems I don’t even know what the right thing to do is, like I have been put in a purely dark room and my challenge is to go as far north as possible with out any light to guide my way. My constant battle with ego and the challenges it faces me with along with my lack of insight as to what path I should walk in this life and what choices will get me there cause my discombobulation .

If you have any insight from your obviously higher on the yogic path perspective it would be deeply and graciously appreciated.

  2. In Lak’ech Ala Kin,

thank you for opening and entrusting.

“It seems even when I want to do the right thing, it seems I don’t even know what the right thing to do is..”

    Yog means Union.
    Union with what?
With practising the 8 limbs of yoga comes union with your higher self.

Initially Yoga allows for stillness, and you begin to be able to hear the higher self clearer.

The higher self can become your internal guide.

Ego can be seen as the conditioned self, or lower self, seeking after self gratification of the senses. These two forces will probably always be evident even in the most advanced practioners. They certainly are in me. In time you learn to slip up less. I hope.

A great exercise to become aware of ego was invented by Aleister Crowley, and was later revised by Robert Anton Wilson. The practicioner chooses a part of the body and whenever s/he vocally refers to the self, i.e, “me” or “I” s/he must slash himself with a blade! ( In R.A.W’s version you simply pinch yourself quite hard.) This exercise is best practised with an accomplice so you can help each other to adhere to the punishment. After only a short while a big change occurs. It is amazing to then go into a public place and engage with people and see how often the average person self refers, see how prevalent the ego is.

Don’t be too hard on yourself.

The process of union is a slow one. Yoga is a life long path. First you must purify the body, or more specifically the nadi channels, in order to be able to utilise greater amounts of astral energy. Following Yama and Niyama is the trick to the purifying process. You start with your thoughts, which become actions. Following the observances and abstentions also help to strengthen your link with your higher self and can be guidelines to right and wrong.

I must warn you however, Yoga is not an easy path. It necessitates much change and upheavel in your life. I am not referring here about simple asana for fitness, but thoroughly following the 8 limbs of yoga. There is good reason why yogi’s retreat to ashrams or in private.

“my lack of insight as to what path I should walk in this life and what choices will get me there cause my discombobulation .”

I found, the I-ching to be an indispensible guide in determining the specific universal energy at the moment of time when you consult it. This gives insight a plenty. It gives a reading of how things are at the present moment, how they will change and what they will change to.

The I-Ching also goes hand in hand with yoga philosophy. It’s central tenant is union. (strange when we think of current Chinese philosophy as athiest.)

So my humble advice, if you do decide to proceed with yoga, is to also learn how to use the I-Ching. This may seem daunting at first, but is well worth the initial time investment.

If you like, and have a specific question for the I, post it here and I will do you a reading, as an example, to see if it resonates with you..

Your question should be in the form of changes over time rather than a yes or no expected answer.

e.g “Beautiful Tao of love, please guide me on my new job/love/path..”

As to right and wrong, Obi Wan sums it up well..

“Luke, you’re going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.”

  3. Dear AAAUMMM,
Thank you so much for your offer regarding the IChing.
I have a question that I would like to receive a devintation for.
Can I have a full spiritual life while being a professional living with a crowded schedule in a crowded city?
    Thanks again.

  4. Dear Ehab,
thank you for your question, one which affects many.

    The coins revealed:
    Hexagram 55 – Abundance
    Moving lines 1,4 and 5.

    Moving to
    Hexagram 39 Obstruction.

I suggest you read thoroughly the whole of Hexagram 55 which is indicating the present time for you.

Pay special attention to the moving lines 1, 4 and 5. These moving lines indicate how things will change for you. Do not read the lines 2, 3 and 6. They do not refer to your question.

Lastly Read Hexagram 39 to see what the situation will change to.

You do not read the moving lines of Hexagram 39. Only the moving lines of Hexagram 55.

Firstly read the sections indicated above and allow them to work on your subconscious. I primarily use the Richard Wilhelm I-Ching, which i feature on this site, but it tends to be quite cryptic and can take a long time and a certain type of mind to understand. Feel free to search for other I-Ching versions and find one which is good for you. If you search for Hexagram 55 online, various interpretations will be available. They will all help clarify the situation.

I find it best when doing a reading for someone, to let them discuss what the meanings feel to them, before offering any interpretation myself.

I suggest you write here what you feel they mean, then if you like, I can offer my opinion.

    In Lak’ech Ala Kin,

    aum.

  5. in appreciation for freely sharing….

  7. I think that this is a wonderful service you offer.

I have been divorced for almost a year. I met a man and he has shown incredible interest in me, however his life is rather complicated. He is unattached, but there’s a lot that holds him back from being totally ‘free’ (Kids and a very unstable ex). I am also very interested in him. I was from the first day I laid eyes on him, that interesting connection you feel with people when you meet and know that there will be at the very least an enduring friendship between the two of you. He has helped me rediscover myself in ways that I thought were lost.

My question is this: Do I wait for him to figure himself out, being there for him as he needs and wait patiently is there a future for us? I am trying so very hard to be patient, but he is set in his ways. The longer I wait, I am afraid the more this will hurt me in the end, if it does not turn out well. I know this one thing. I do love him.

I am sorry, I know it’s sappy, and gushy, but I don’t know what else to do. My friends tell me to walk away, but I am not that type of person. I stayed in a marriage where my ex was controlling and emotionally abusive, for over 10 years, because I didn’t want to do harm.

Thank you for taking time to consider this for me. I truly appreciate it.

You do not read the moving lines of Hexagram 17. Only the moving line no.3 of Hexagram 49.

Hope this is of some help,

      aum.

      P.S I found this helped me when I was in a similar situation;

  8. Will I be financially well off from now onwards. Will it be advisable to invest in the sharemarket with regards this ?

    • Subramaniam,

Thank you for sharing your question..

      The I revealed:

In my experience, a single hexagram without moving lines usually indicates a sure answer.

I suggest you read thoroughly the whole of Hexagram 19.

  9. Dear Aaaummm,

Thanks so much for offering this service…

I have tried working with the I Ging myself, some years past, but never got very far … the only archetypes I really managed to grasp are the Yin and the Yang … everything else quickly gets so complex that it quickly boggles my mind…

    Anyway…

I am in a somewhat “interesting” situation right now…
I’ll try to convey the “gist” of it in a couple of sentences:

    – I am now living in a place and environment that is very “toxic” to me, even though, from a purely objective standpoint, it should be fine. It feels as if I am “allergic” to everything … the people, the place, the culture, the society, the food, etc…

    – I am planning to leave this country very soon and go abroad to pursue a Master’s degree at a university in China. In some way I can’t stand universities any more (for obvious reasons), but it seems like the quickest and easiest way to get away from here and get in touch with other people.

    – I want to be completely financially independent as soon as possible, but my physical energy is very limited (I have had what you might call severe chronic fatigue syndrome for more than 6 years and am only very slowly recovering), precluding, at least for now, taking up any “normal” five-to-nine job (I tried it; and it would “kill” me within a a few weeks)

    – I feel as I am completely “stuck” in this situation, especially physically (with symptoms like severe muscular tension and complete lack of energy) and emotionally (just cannot keep up with processing all the emotions I am subjected to, since the people around me, of course, do not understand what’s going on and constantly bombard me with their “good advice”)

    – I do not feel any desire for “spiritual advancement”, at least in the “classical” sense it is understood, but it is clear to me that the spiritual side of things is the pivotal point in this complex of “problems” I am currently facing.
I feel that if you put “me” into a healthy body with a healthy nervous system, I should be easily able to perfectly “function” in society and be “spiritually advanced” at the same time. But inside the body I am in right now (which, of course, is “me” as well), the simplest chores of daily life are the most arduous of tasks…

    – I want to live a life that is an expression of my true Self, but at the same time I don’t want to “overstrain” the “other people” … normal reactions usually range from fear to aggression.

    – I feel as if I am from another planet and humanity, with all their thoughts, feelings and concepts, is completely alien to me, although I can understand them, in a way. Still, it’s almost impossible to connect to people on a heart-to-heart level…

    – In case you were wondering, I am mentally sane (at least I do feel very sane), and the only psychiatric diagnoses I got so far are “weak concentration skills”, “deterioration of performance” and “slight depressions” … but I don’t really “believe” in psychiatry much anyway…

Okay, that’s more sentences than I planned … hope I am not annoying you.

I am not asking for medical advice, neither for personal, professional or relationship advice … just for an archetype from the I Ging, something I can meditate on in the weeks to come… if possible with a little explanation. It’s very hard understanding the hexagrams, as the names by which they are commonly called don’t necessarily reflect their actual archetypical nature…

    Again, thanks so much!!
And all the best to you!

    George

  10. Hi George,

Thank you for sharing, you seem to be at an interesting stage in your life..

    The I revealed:

    Hexagram 15 Modesty.

I suggest you read thoroughly the whole of Hexagram 15.

Do not read the moving lines of Hexagram 15.

I realise you have asked for a little explanation, which I am more than happy to provide; firstly though I think you should read the hexagram yourself and see how it feels before any secondary interpretation. Feel free to write back with any forthcoming questions.

    Hope this helps..

  11. Hey Rae,
apols for delay in reply, busy week..
Did a reading for ya on the night you asked, but have only just now got around to posting it..

    The I revealed:

Hexagram 61 Inner Truth. With moving line number 1.

I suggest you read thoroughly the whole of Hexagram 61, and the moving line number 1

This moves to Hexagram 59 Dispersion. Read this one thoroughly too.

Do not read the moving lines of Hexagram 59.

If you would like any help with this divination do not hesitate to ask..

  12. Hi, Aum. I would like your insight on whether I should (A) “keep fighting” or (B) “fight my way back (to civilization?)”. I’ll be brief, but let me know if I should go into more detail.

I come from a rich country where I’m a licensed professional, but for several years I’ve been living in the tropics, learning the languages, “chasing anima” (anima = inner woman or ideal woman), and passively rebelling against the corporations, the patriarchy, etc. It has been easy and difficult at the same time — difficult mostly b/c of the finances.

At this point I can either forge on ahead on all fronts while trying to become more active in the rebellion, or I can backtrack to my rich country and be a well-paid professional for a while. I could also quit chasing anima, settle for “a lesser woman”, and start a family.

    What “should” I do?

    Thanks.

    • Hey 番,
      thanks for posting..

      The I revealed:

Hexagram 39 Obstruction. With moving line number 6.

I suggest you read thoroughly the whole of Hexagram 39, and the moving line, at the top, number 6

This moves to Hexagram 53 Development / gradual progress. Read this one thoroughly too.

Do not read the moving lines of Hexagram 53.

Yours is a very interesting reading, if you would like any help with this divination do not hesitate to ask..

      aum

      aum

      • Much thanks, Aum!

I’ve read these as closely as a newbie could. The parallels (to what I wrote above) seem striking, at least on the face of it! I would like to ask a few questions — please excuse me if they seem ignorant:

        1. Advantage in the southwest; going to meet a person of power — can I take these literally?

        2. Would “arresting my steps” and “turning around / inward” mean (A) doing exactly what I’ve been doing recently, or could it mean (B) I should go back to my old paths? Or is this something I’d have to meditate on personally?

        3. Is the moving line a “recommended course of action”?

        4. The marriage part is cryptic. Is it abstract, or should I literally get married? When does Hex. 53 “take effect”?

Again, thanks. I look forward to hearing whatever you might have to say on this.

      • Aum,

I had interpreted your last reading as applying to the next stage of my life. The last reading, as I read it, said that it would be a bad time to either go back or move forward, etc.

The strange thing is I embarked on three or four months of frequent travel and it became somewhat clear that the reading actually applied to this shorter period of time. It just seemed like a bad time to travel. A lot of things went wrong.

My question is, was there any indication, at the time, of what time frame this reading really applied to? And when would it be appropriate to get another reading? Would now be good?

        Thanks again.

    • Hey 番,

“was there any indication, at the time, of what time frame this reading really applied to?”

      Your original question asked;
“At this point I can either forge on..”

The i would have taken your question literally. The time indication would have been, from this point.

“I had interpreted your last reading as applying to the next stage of my life”
The next stage of your life always begins now. When else could it begin?

I was struck by the clarity of your reading, to me it seemed obvious your suggested course. You could have asked for help with the interpretation. This may have avoided the personal problems you have gone through recently

Many years ago when I first studied the I, I soon understood that to go against its wisdom led to trouble. I, of course, had to learn the hard way.
Going with the flow of the tao, life went better than expected.

I hope you will learn this too.

It will be a pleasure to do another reading.

Please think carefully about the exact wording of your question.

      aum

      • Sorry for the hiatus. I’ve been trying to get back to this, and tonight I have.

I really did try to act in accord with the last reading. Maybe I just misread it. I tried applying it to long-term activities, to a time frame of three years or five — a time frame where three months is just an instant. I guess I over-thought.

        My question now is this:

Which course of action over the next fifteen months would be the most rewarding:

        (1) Seeking and accepting employment,
        (2) going into business solo, or
        (3) going into business with he-who-I’ve-been-apprenticing-with as a partner?

Another question I have, “for you”, is whether or not the last reading is still worth consulting at this point? Or maybe its moving line, at least?

I also have a few other details I would like to share with you, if you can email me. I assume you can see my email address from somewhere in your dashboard.

        Once again… Much thanks.

      • Hi 番,

Looking at your original reading I do think the moving line is still poignant, mainly,

“coming leads to great good fortune.”

I believe “coming,” here refers to, the will being directed to inner things. This seems to me the most valuable point in your reading. I know you have enquired mainly about career matters, yet the I tends to provide the answers that we really need to hear.

Your question; “Which course of action over the next fifteen months would be the most rewarding:

        (1) Seeking and accepting employment,
        (2) going into business solo, or
        (3) going into business with he-who-I’ve-been-apprenticing-with as a partner?”

        You might want to précis this question down to a single one.. Maybe, simply;

“Beautiful Tao of love, please guide me on my career over the next 15 months.”

Wording the question seems to be the key to getting more accurate answers. This is just my humble opinion though, and you may feel differently and I will be happy to pose any question the way you choose to word.

I look forward to your next reading..

        aum.

    • Hey Robin,
thank you for posting your question.

      The I revealed:

I suggest you read thoroughly the whole of Hexagram 54, and the moving line, number 1.

This moves to Hexagram 40 Deliverance. Read this one thoroughly too.

Do not read the moving lines of Hexagram 40.

    • Hi Toula,

The I revealed hexagram no. 38 Opposition. Read all sections of this hexagram, with the moving lines 2 and 3.
This moves to hexagram no. 30 The Clinging. Read all of this except the moving lines.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, do not hesitate.

      aum.

  13. I’m a 39 y.o. guy. I get extremely bad compulsive thoughts (e.g. sex, violence, hurting people, etc.). For more than 20 years, these thoughts have prevented me from making friends, finding a partner, keeping a job, continuing my education, or even functioning among other people. I never act on these thoughts and I desperately try to repress them or think other thoughts. It seems like people know that I am having bad thoughts.

I’ve been practically celibate for nine years. I thought it would “purify” my mind. However, the extra energy seems to be stuck in the genitals and now there is more energy behind the compulsive thoughts. My life has gone nowhere for 20 + years and I think of suicide every day. I won’t do it because I believe I will be reborn into another wretched life facing the exact same problems.

      • Hey there mindlikeemptyspace,

        thanks for your post.

You haven’t asked a direct question for the I-ching, so i cannot do a reading,

Heres my 2 cents though, hope some of it can help.

Firstly, have you tried any energy work, Chi Gung, yoga?

I think the microcosmic orbit would help. Maybe check out Mantak Chia. “Taoists secrets of love, cultivating male sexual energy” Get that energy circulating.

I found Kriya yoga to help re-programme trapped negative energy / behavioral patterns.

Robert Anton Wilson talks about sexual imprinting, in “Prometheus rising” I think some research into this may help you to deal with possible root causes.

Tibetan Soul retrieval work can help with any unearthed trauma, or similarly a Carlos Castaneda recapitulation. You can youtube these.

Some research into vitamins, minerals and amino acids would be beneficial, I would recommend Patrick Holfords “how to quit without feeling shit.” Great book.

These are some ways you can look into healing yourself, maybe some professional advice could help too. This is just my personal opinion, i am not a doctor.

Feel free to chat on here anytime, I am interested in what you think of these ideas or if you have a specific question for the I-Ching..

        Hope this helps,

        aum

  14. Thanks aum for the advice.

I was so absorbed in describing my plight in the last comment that I forgot to add a question, lol. I guess my question is: “What (if anything) should/can I do with my life?”

Regarding your suggestions, I’ve been doing the microcosmic orbit for a couple of weeks but so far I don’t feel anything. I’m not expecting it to “work” immediately, and I will keep trying for years or decades if needed. Previously, I’d been unsure of whether to try it because I’d read stories of premature kundalini awakenings and didn’t want to undergo one.

I tried yoga for a few weeks when I was a teenager. I am flexible and in decent shape for a middle-aged guy and I exercise every day and try to meditate daily as well.

I will look into the sources you mentioned. Thanks again.

  15. Hi mindlikeemptyspace ,

The I revealed hexagram no. 37 The family [The clan]. Read all sections of this hexagram, with the moving line no.5.

This moves to hexagram no. 22 Grace. Read all of this except the moving lines.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, do not hesitate.

    aum.

  16. Hi Aum,
Maybe the I-Ching Oracle can answer my question about love coming into being in my life, in other words: where is the love?

And, are ‘wanderer’ and ‘seeker’ the same?

    Best wishes,
    Ingvi

    • Hey Invgi, thanks for your patience. I would like to pay special attention to your important question. Please read all the below carefully. If you have any questions please ask.

The I has given Hexagram no.32 Duration, with moving lines no.2 and no. 3; leading to no.2 The receptive.

This is how the situation is now:

      32. Hêng / Duration

above CHÊN / THE AROUSING, THUNDER
below SUN / THE GENTLE, WIND

The strong trigram Chên is above, the weak trigram Sun below. This hexagram is the inverse of the preceding one. In the latter we have influence, here we have union as an enduring condition. The two images are thunder and wind, which are likewise constantly paired phenomena. The lower trigram indicates gentleness within; the upper, movement without.

In the sphere of social relationships, the hexagram represents the institution of marriage as the enduring union of the sexes. During courtship the young man subordinates himself to the girl, but in marriage, which is represented by the coming together of the eldest son and the eldest daughter, the husband is the directing and moving force outside, while the wife, inside, is gentle and submissive.

      THE JUDGMENT

      DURATION. Success. No blame.
      Perseverance furthers.
It furthers one to have somewhere to go
      .

Duration is a state whose movement is not worn down by hindrances. It is not a state of rest, for mere standstill is regression. Duration is rather the self–contained and therefore self–renewing movement of an organized, firmly integrated whole, taking place in accordance with immutable laws and beginning anew at every ending. The end is reached by an inward movement, by inhalation, systole, contraction, and this movement turns into a new beginning, in which the movement is directed outward, in exhalation, diastole, expansion.

Heavenly bodies exemplify duration. They move in their fixed orbits, and because of this their light–giving power endures. The seasons of the year follow a fixed law of change and transformation, hence can produce effects that endure.

So likewise the dedicated man embodies an enduring meaning in his way of life, and thereby the world is formed. In that which gives things their duration, we can come to understand the nature of all beings in heaven and on earth.

      THE IMAGE

Thunder and wind: the image of DURATION.
Thus the superior man stands firm
And does not change his direction.

Thunder rolls, and the wind blows; both are examples of extreme mobility and so are seemingly the very opposite of duration, but the laws governing their appearance and subsidence, their coming and going, endure. In the same way the independence of the superior man is not based on rigidity and immobility of character. He always keeps abreast of the time and changes with it. What endures is the unswerving directive, the inner law of his being, which determines all his actions.

The lines. (This is how the situation will change.)

Nine in the second place means:

      Remorse disappears.

The situation is abnormal. A man’s force of character is greater than the available material power. Thus he might be afraid of allowing himself to attempt something beyond his strength. However, since it is the time of Duration, it is possible for him to control his inner strength and so to avoid excess. Cause for remorse then disappears.

Nine in the third place means:

He who does not give Duration to his character
      Meets with disgrace.
      Persistent humiliation.

If a man remains at the mercy of moods of hope or fear aroused by the outer world, he loses his inner consistency of character. Such inconsistency invariably leads to distressing experiences. These humiliations often come from an unforeseen quarter. Such experiences are not merely effects produced by the external world, but logical consequences evoked by his own nature.

      I Ching hexagram 2 – K’un / The Receptive.

(This is how things can be in the future.)

      Above K’un the Receptive, Earth

      Below K’un the Receptive, Earth

      Introduction

This hexagram is made up of broken lines only. The broken lines represents the dark, yielding, receptive primal power of yin. The attribute of the hexagram is devotion; its image is the earth. It is the perfect complement of The Creative the complement, not the opposite, for the Receptive does not combat the Creative but completes it . It represents nature in contrast to spirit, earth in contrast to heaven, space as against time, the female-maternal as against the male-paternal. However, as applied to human affairs, the principle of this complementary relationship is found not only in the relation between man and woman, but also in that between prince and minister and between father and son. Indeed, even in the individual this duality appears in the coexistence of the spiritual world and the world of the senses. But strictly speaking there is no real dualism here, because there is a clearly defined hierarchic relationship between the two principles. In itself of course the Receptive is just as important as the Creative, but the attribute of devotion defines the place occupied by this primal power in relation to the Creative. For the Receptive must be activated and led by the Creative; then it is productive of good. Only when it abandons this position and tries to stand as an equal side by side with the Creative, does it become evil. The result then is opposition to and struggle against the Creative, which is productive of evil to both.

      Judgement

The Receptive brings about sublime success, Furthering through the perseverance of a mare. If the superior man undertakes something and tries to lead, He goes astray; But if he follows, he finds guidance. It is favorable to find friends in the west and south, To forego friends in the east and north. Quiet perseverance brings good fortune.

      Judgement Commentary

The four fundamental aspects of the Creative sublime success, furthering through perseverance”–are also attributed to the Receptive. Here, however, the perseverance is more closely defined: it is that of a mare. The Receptive connotes spatial reality in contrast to the spiritual potentiality of the Creative. The potential becomes real and the spiritual becomes spatial through a specifically qualifying definition. Thus the qualification, “of a mare,” is here added to the idea of perseverance. The horse belongs to earth just as the dragon belongs to heaven. Its tireless roaming over the plains is taken as a symbol of the vast expanse of the earth. This is the symbol chosen because the mare combines the strength and swiftness of the horse with the gentleness and devotion of the cow. Only because nature in its myriad forms corresponds with the myriad impulses of the Creative can it make these impulses real. Nature’s richness lies in its power to nourish all living things; its greatness lies in its power to give then beauty and splendor. Thus it prospers all that lives. IT is the Creative that begets things, but they are brought to birth by the Receptive. Applied to human affairs, therefore, what the hexagram indicated is action in conformity with the situation. The person in questions not in an independent position, but is acting as an assistant. This means that he must achieve something. It is not his task to try to lead–that would only make him lose the way-but to let himself be led. If he knows how to meet fate with an attitude of acceptance, he is sure to find the right guidance. The superior man lets himself be guided; he does not go ahead blindly, but learns from the situation what is demanded of him and then follows this intimation from fate.
Since there is something to be accomplished, we need friends and helpers in the hour of toil and effort, once the ideas to be realized are firmly set. The time of toil and effort is indicated by the west and south, for west and south symbolize the place where the Receptive works for the Creative, as nature does in summer and autumn. If in that situation one does not mobilize all one’s powers, the work to be accomplished will not be done. Hence to find friends there means to find guidance. But in addition to the time of toil and effort, there is also a time of planning, and for this we need this solitude. The east symbolized the place where a man receives orders from his master, and the north the place where he reports on what he has done. At that time he must be alone and objective. In this sacred hour he must do without companions. So that the purity of the moment may not be spoiled by fictional hates and favoritism.

      The Image

The earth’s condition is receptive devotion. Thus the superior man who has breadth of character Carries the outer world.

      Image Commentary

Just as there is only one heaven, so too there is only one earth. In the hexagram of heaven the doubling of the trigram implies duration in time, but in the hexagram of earth the doubling connotes the solidity and extension in space by virtue of which the earth is able to carry and preserve all things that live and move upon it. The earth in its devotion carries all things, good and evil,, without exception. In the same way the superior man gives to his character breadth, purity, and sustaining power, so that he is able both to support and to bear with people and things.

      Hope this helps.

      aum.

      • Hi Aum,
Thanks for your extensive reply. After studying it (reading it thoroughly) I will most likely have some questions for you.
        Best wishes,
        Ingvi

      • Hi Aum,
I’ve read it thoroughly and it’s given me insight. I know now I need to live receptively in accordance with the creative and thus live as a superior man. Can’t say it’s easy though, the ego mind always seems to doubt the eternal truth and mystery. I will wander on and I’ve asked that someone by letter today.

  17. Hello. I have two questions.1- when do my boy friend and I get married and live together (just two of us). 2- How can I find which of my interested is my Darma? thank you

    • Hello ah, thank you for your questions. I feel that i cannot answer them in their present state, as they need re structuring. (See section above on question asking.)

Your first question asks “when do my boy friend and I get married and live together (just two of us)”.

In my experience the I does not give definite times.

      Your second question asks

“How can I find which of my interested is my Darma?”

I presume you mean interests, but am unsure so will wait for your confirmation to proceed.

Again, thanks for your question, and my humble apologies for not being able to help at this moment. I do hope you re phrase and ask again.

      aum

  18. Hi Aum,

I have another question. In my previous response on the 22nd of june I let you know that I had asked that person by letter. Now it’s almost three months further. This person is someone who came into my life (by the internet), or me into her’s, somewhere in the autumn of 2012. Eventually we met at the end of march 2014. We loved each other the evening and night. No doubt about that. The day after she went from light to darkness. Not for me though and in days, weeks, months to come she kept repeating that she didn’t want or need a relationship but also that we were friends. As she also responded to my letter (her response was also quite mean). I never stipulated that we were to have a committed relationship or anything like that. But there seemed to be a connection having to do with the Soul. Eventually it turned out that she wasn’t capable of connecting in truth (in my view). The weird thing is though, that during this time-frame there were regular synchronicities that couldn’t mean anything else but that our meeting had in in some way been necessary. It took two years before she closed off. But now I’m still wondering: why did this happen? Or, what happened? Why did we meet?

Maybe the oracle can clear this up some more.

    Take care,
    Ingvi

      • Hi Ingvi, thank you for the reminder. I commiserate with your situation having been through something similar. Sounds like a tough time for your heart.
Maybe you could attempt to simplify your question somewhat.. am struggling to get a handle on just exactly how to phrase your question to the I.
hope this message finds you in peace..

        aum

      • Hi Aum,

Probably the best way to phrase the question is: what was the reason for me and C.? Her name starts with a ‘c’.

        Best wishes,
        I.

      • Hey Ingvi,

my apologies for the delay.. Difficult days..

        The coins revealed:

I suggest you read thoroughly the whole of Hexagram 58.

Pay special attention to the first moving line.

        Lastly Read Hexagram 47.

You do not read the moving lines of Hexagram 47.

I hope the message within these hexagrams will help.

Feel free to ask any further questions which may arise.

        aum.

      • Hi Aum,
They help as they are spot on. I wish you strength and luck in your difficult times. Hold on to this one: ‘this too shall pass’. Should I have another or more questions, I will know where to find you 😉

        With sincere and warm wishes,
        Ingvi

  19. Aum
For some reason you showed in my path right now. Since not long ago, I felt a sudden urge to learn about the I Ching. I do the runes as well. Both complement each other. I was wondering if you get a different message for me. Am I in the right path?
    Thank you,
    V

  20. Hi Aum, I hope the years have treated you well…

I’ve gone back over the reading you did for me in 2012 (July 30) many times. In the context of the events of 2014, it seems to make a lot of sense. I don’t know if that’s possible, in an I CHING sense [for things to come together so long after the reading].

I would like to ask you to ask this on my behalf:

“Beautiful Tao of love, please guide me on my new path.”

    Thanks.

    • 番,
thank you for your kind words..

I would say readings definitely develop with time and as our own understanding of a situation develops. These readings do not have a time limit on them. I find the readings to be timeless positive personal advice.

      The coins revealed:
      Hexagram 39 – Obstruction, with,
      Moving lines 2 and 6.

      Moving to
Hexagram 57 – The Gentle (The penetrating, Wind) .

I suggest you read thoroughly the whole of Hexagram 39.

Pay special attention to the moving lines 2 and 6.

      Lastly Read Hexagram 57.

You do not read the moving lines of Hexagram 57.

After perusing your previous readings it was intriguing to get this new reading. I have encountered the phenomenon of the same moving line occurring in my own personal readings, but not for someone else, and especially after your recent question concerning time… Imagine the odds!

Please, feel free to ask any further questions which may arise.

      aum.

      • “Obstructed” yet again, hahaha…

Thank you, Aum. I’ma go do some deep thinking on this.

      • Hi, Aum —

Long time no blog. I hope You’re still here!

I went through some interesting changes in the past year. I’d like to ask You for your help on a new reading, if You have time:

“Beautiful Tao of Love, should I accept the job that my friend has offered me, or should I stay on the path I’ve been on since last year?”

        Thanks.

      • Hi 番,

good to hear from you. Lil bit busy at mo, will do you a reading as soon as i possibly can 🙂 Hopefully some time 2mo.

Happy to be of service – aum.

      • Apologies for the delay, am moving house and all is in flux. My energy is very low after a long day. Shall endevor to consult the I for you as soon as possible 🙂

      • Ok Saritavihar, Sorry for the big delay.

The I answered With a single Hexagram:

        Hexagram 42 Increase.

        I Ching Hexagram 42 – I / Increase

        hexagram 42
        Above Sun the Gentle, Wind

        Below Chen the Arousing, Thunder

        Introduction

The idea of increase is expressed in the fact that the strong lowest line of the upper trigram has sunk down and taken its place under the lower trigram. This conception also expresses the fundamental idea on which the Book of Changes is based. To rule truly is to serve. A sacrifice of the higher element that produces an increase of the lower is called an out-and-out increase: it indicates the spirit that alone has power to help the world.

        Judgement

Increase. It furthers one to undertake something. It furthers one to cross the great water.

        Judgement Commentary

Sacrifice on the part of those above for the increase of those below fills the people with a sense of joy and gratitude that is extremely valuable for the flowering of the commonwealth. When people are thus devoted to their leaders, undertakings are possible, and even difficult and dangerous enterprises will succeed. Therefore in such times of progress and successful development it is necessary to work and make the best use of time. This time resembles that of the marriage of heaven and earth, when the earth partakes of the creative power of heaven, forming and bringing forth living beings. The time of Increase does not endure, therefore it must be utilized while it lasts.

        The Image

Wind and thunder: the image of Increase. Thus the superior man, if he sees good, he imitates it. If he has faults, he rids himself of them.

        Image Commentary

While observing how thunder and wind increase and strengthen each other, a man can note the way to self-increase and self-improvement. When he discovers good in others, he should imitate it and thus make everything on earth his own. If he perceives something bad in himself, let him rid himself of it. In this way he becomes free of evil. This ethical change represents the most important increase of personality.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

        aum

      • I seem to have lost the draft of a very long comment I had written a while ago, but will try again!
Many thanks for your response 😊I have a related query, which you may regard as a new question, which is about my relationship with someone I have been involved with since the last three years, and which has been an extremely intense and enriching but also tumultuous experience. At this point in time, I am struggling with his having said ‘no ‘ to the prospect of a lifelong intimate union and companionship, in the context of a stressful conversation over the phone, in a situation of extreme and disturbed outbursts by myself expressing dissatisfaction with the way in which our relationship was proceeding, in relation to what I perceived as my needs, as I was suffering from the painful effectso of a surgery, though minor but painful, and woke him up at an unearthly hour to express my feelings and angry decision to break off the relationship, specially since we live apart, in separate though adjacent cities, and my friend has said very emphatically that we cannot live together, specially as his activities are such that he lives in what is termed a slum community, and perhaps for other pertinent reasons as well, which in the condition i was in, living alone in another city by myself, suddenly seemed to make the prospect of a lifelong union with the person concerned totally unsatisfactory but hurtful, since I had been very keen for the relationship to succeed, as we were going through a period of healing a rift consequent to an earlier situation verging on a collapse of the relationship. I woke up later to convey the reason for my extreme response later after speaking to the doctor and getting his advice , which seemed to irritatell him for he rebuffed me for talking of the doctor ‘said advice in detail , which hurt me, and led to my asking him if he was still considering the possibility of a lifelong intimate union, which elicited an angry and strong ‘no ‘ and which was followed by my asking if there was some other person in his life instead, to which his answer again was an angry no (my question was prompredicted by my general insecurity given certain situations that had occurred earlier in relation to some other women associates of my friend ). I felt emotionally devastated, because I had been very keen for this relationship to succeed and fulfill my dreams, since despite the turmoil of many irksome aspects and developments that were negative, I was still wishing that we would unite and become life companions. .. I now find that we have not broken off communication, but there was a palpable tension to begin with, which we seem to be mutually allowingredients to get resolved by focusing on common activities and interests which were the objective reasons for our meeting each other, to begin with, but all this has been virtually completely on phone, and I am wary of repeating the earlier form of a sequence of events where my desires and dreams may overtake the caution needed to remain grounded in reality, including the pain of coming to terms with his lack of interest in this relationship beyond pragmatic involvement in relatively impersonal interactions focussed on shared interests. I sense a coldness though no hostility, and am also pursuing the possibility of therapy to deal with past traumas that may be contributing to my current emotional instability and inability to come to terms with his ‘no ‘, and my despair at the collapse of a cherished dream. My question then is about whether this relationship may still succeed, in the form of an intimate and meaningful and lifelong companionship or whether I am in for further rude shocks, and whether and how I can avoid any misfortune in this wish for something that I have been wanting and needing and at one point seemed very close to getting? Please do not respond in as much detail as possible, and let me know if there is a link between the answer to my earlier question and this one, and what exactly the link consists of?
        With deep regards,
        Sheena

  21. Hey Sheena,
My apologies, have only just found your question.
Am aware of the long delay since you asked..
Do you still wish to ask the same question or has the situation evolved further?
Please feel free to formulate a new question..
Hope all is well for you.

    aum.

    • I wonder if the comment and question i posted today has reached and would like to know how to verify this any time i send a reply?
      Sheena

      • Since the earlier question was sent before the query about verification that you have answered, it’s probably lost somewhere in virtual space…i would like to know if despite severe ups and downs in my relationship since i last wrote to you about it, if there may still be some hope and possibility of a recovery and renewal minus the negatives even perhaps after a break which it seems to often reach?

      • Hi Sheena, The I revealed a single Hexagram:

        I Ching Hexagram 45 – Ts’ui / Gathering Together (Massing)

        hexagram 45
        Above Tui the Joyous, Lake

        Below K’un the Receptive, Earth

        Introduction

This hexagram is related in form and meaning to Pi, Holding Together (8). In the latter, water is over the earth; here a lake is over the earth. But since the lake is a place where water collects, the idea of gathering together is even more strongly expressed here than in the other hexagram. The same idea also arises from the fact that in the present case it is two strong lines (the fourth and the fifth) that bring about the gather together, whereas in the former case one strong line (the fifth) stands in the midst of weak lines.

        Judgement

Gathering Together. Success. The king approaches his temple. It furthers one to see the great man. This brings success. Perseverance furthers. To bring great offerings creates good fortune. It furthers one to undertake something.

        Judgement Commentary

The gathering together of people in large communities is either a natural occurrence, as in the case of the family, or an artificial one, as in the case of the state. The family gathers about the father as its head. The perpetuation of this gathering in groups is achieved through the sacrifice to the ancestors, at which the whole clan is gathered together. Through the collective piety of the living members of the family, the ancestors become so integrated in the spiritual life of the family that it cannot be dispersed or dissolved. Where men are to be gathered together, religious forces are needed. But there must also be a human leader to serve as the center of the group. In order to be able to bring others together, this leader must first of all be collected within himself. Only collective moral force can unite the world. Such great times of unification will leave great achievements behind them. This is the significance of the great offerings that are made. In the secular sphere likewise there is no need of great deeds in the time of Gathering Together.

        The Image

Over the earth, the lake: The image of Gathering Together. Thus the superior man renews his weapons in order to meet the unforeseen.

        Image Commentary

If the water in the lake gathers until it rises above the earth, there is danger of a break-through. Precautions must be taken to prevent this. Similarly where men gather together in great numbers, strife is likely to arise, where possessions are collected, robbery is likely to occur. Thus in the time of Gathering Together we must arm promptly to ward off the unexpected. Human woes usually come as a result of unexpected events against which we are not forearmed. If we are prepared, they can be prevented.

Hope this and helps, please, feel free to ask any further questions which may arise. I feel for you at this difficult time. I am going through something similar myself.

        aum.

      • Dear aum , your reply to my earlier question about my relationship and it’s possible renewal after a break was hexagram 45 with moving lines perhaps (?). I find a certain ominousness in the idea of possible robbery and the need to be fore armed against possible misfortune. So my question now is what sort of misfortune and robbery is anticipated and what should i do to fore arm myself if there is something likely that is unexpected? Also, since some time has elapsed since your reply and in the mean time, i have been restrained in my interaction with my friend: for instance not giving in to my impulse to call up even to ask him how he is as i used to earlier though we have exchanged somewhat impersonal whatsapp messages such as his views on politics and songs and videos ushering in september on my part, and so my question to you is also whether this is indicative of a cooling off which is mutual and a step towards a final dissolution of our relationship? Please do respond!

    • Hi Sheena,

hope you don’t mind but I condensed your questions into one simpler question..

“Beautiful Tao of love please guide Sheena on her relationship.”

The I answered, again with a single hexagram.

      I Ching Hexagram 16 – Yu / Enthusiasm

      hexagram 16
      Above Chen the Arousing, Thunder

      Below K’un the Receptive, Earth

      Introduction

The strong line in the fourth place, that of the leading official, meets with response and obedience from all the other lines, which are all weak. The attribute of the upper trigram, Chen, is movement; the attributes of K’un, the lower, are obedience and devotion. This begins a movement that meets with devotion and therefore inspires enthusiasm, carrying all with it. Of great importance, furthermore, is the law of movement along the line of least resistance, which in this hexagram is enunciated as the law for natural events and for human life.

      Judgement

Enthusiasm. It furthers one to install helpers and to set armies marching.

      Judgement Commentary

The time of Enthusiasm derives from the fact that there is at hand an eminent man who is in sympathy with the spirit of the people and acts in accord with it. Hence he finds universal and willing obedience. To arouse enthusiasm it is necessary for a man to adjust himself and his ordinances to the character of those whom he has to lead. The inviolability of natural laws rests on this principle of movement along the line of least resistance. Theses laws are not forces external to things but represent the harmony of movement immanent in them. That is why the celestial bodies do not deviate from their orbits and why all events in nature occur with fixed regularity. It is the same with human society: only such laws are rooted in popular sentiment can be enforced, while laws violating this sentiment merely arouse resentment. Again, it is enthusiasm that enables us to install helpers for the completion of an undertaking without fear of secret opposition. It is enthusiasm too that can unify mass movements, as in war, so that they achieve victory.

      The Image

Thunder comes resounding out of the earth: The image of Enthusiasm. Thus the ancient kings made music In order to honor merit, and offered it with splendor to the Supreme Deity, Inviting their ancestors to be present.

      Image Commentary

When, at the beginning of summer, thunder–electrical energy–comes rushing forth from the earth again, and the first thunderstorm refreshes nature, a prolonged state of tension is resolved. Joy and relief make themselves felt. So too, music has power to ease tension within the heart and to loosen the grip of obscure emotions. The enthusiasm of the heart expresses itself involuntarily in a burst of song, in dance and rhythmic movement of the body. From immemorial times the inspiring effect of the invisible sound that moves all hearts, and draws them together, has mystified mankind. Rulers have made use of this natural taste for music; they elevated and regulated it. Music was looked upon as something serious and holy, designed to purify the feelings of men. It fell to music to glorify the virtues of heroes and thus to construct a bridge to the world of the unseen. In the temple men drew near to God with music and pantomimes (out of this later the theater developed). Religious feeling for the Creator of the world was united with the most sacred of human feelings, that of reverence for the ancestors. The ancestors were invited to these divine services as guests of the Ruler of Heaven and as representatives of humanity in the higher regions. This uniting of the human past with the Divinity in solemn moments of religious inspiration established the bond between God and man. The ruler who revered the Divinity in revering his ancestors became thereby the Son of Heaven, in whom the heavenly and the earthly world met in mystical contact. These ideas are the final summation of Chinese culture. Confucius has said of the great sacrifice at which these rites were performed: ‘He who could wholly comprehend this sacrifice could rule the world as though it were spinning on his hand.’

      • I have a talent for losing what i write at length and then writing again to you! Many thanks for your reading that makes me optimistic and somewhat better equipped to see my relationship from a perspective that is helping me to overcome negativity and deal with severe depression that i have been diagnosed as having, with roots going back to childhood and in situations and events over the years, and accompanying anxiety, anger, sleep disturbances, absence of and need for close companionship, irritability, and so on.The diagnosis was the result of an attempt to get professional help for some very upsetting emotional events and interactions with my friend who felt unable to cope or help me with, ( this was something that happened before
I last wrote to you), and though the following period of a seeming break up (i sometimes wonder if i am wrong in not acknowledging it as a real break up, despite mutual communication focussed on common interests ) depressed me further, i am hoping that going for the recommended analysis in the kleinian tradition, which i have begun, and not going for medication, by choice, given my earlier experience of it and also further information gathered about possible negative side effects and so on, will heal what is making me feel quite sad and tense. In fact, i had been on psychiatric medicines for over 10 years which i gave up 5 years ago because of extremely negative side effects and ineffectiveness in overcoming what were clearly emotional imbalances that were getting worse, and what i understood by researching on the net and consultation with other therapists, and my own experience, as having been medication based on misdiagnosis, and so i was undergoing treatment by reflexology instead. While i benefitted greatly by giving up the medication and have overcome some of the major negative side effects, the fact of overwhelming emotions and the ups and downs of my relationship with my friend, and also with my family, i.e. siblings and their spouses and nieces and nephews,
( i was with my parents till they passed away in 1998 and 2001; i was in my forties then; and they were my family in the real and best sense of the term and i miss them sorely!), make me wonder if i will ever achieve a state of well being that seems to have eluded me for long.
Given the absence of the kind of support also recommended by the results of the psychological test which was the basis of the diagnosis, in order to achieve emotional and mental well being i.e. from family and relatives, which has not been a feature of my situation in a reliable and steady way ever since my parents passed away, and the distancing on the part of my friend, who was once a source of great emotional strength, i am in somewhat in a greater state of tension and anxiety about whether i will be cured of my depression through analysis and whether my friend is only in touch to see me through a transition to a steadier emotional state and will break off more decisively thereafter….my questions to you then are1. whether and when will i be cured of my psychological ailments ? and 2. Whether the last positive reading regarding my love life remains valid in the light of whatever i have communicated to you further in this message?
        With regards and gratitude,
        aum, sheena

  22. Hi Sheena,
Managed to do you a reading.

I asked the I “whether and when will you be cured of your psychological ailments ?”

I Ching Hexagram 14 – Ta Yu / Possession in Great Measure

    hexagram 14

    Above Li the Clinging, Flame

    Below Ch’ien the Creative, Heaven

    Introduction

The fire in heaven above shines far, and all things stand out in the light and become manifest. The weak fifth line occupies the place of honor and all the strong lines are in accord with it. All things come to the man who is modest and kind in a high position.

    Judgement

Possession in Great Measure. Supreme success.

    Judgement Commentary

The two trigrams indicate that strength and clarity unite. Possessions great measure is determined by fate and accords with the time. How is it possible that the weak line has power to hold the strong lines fast and to possess them? It is done by virtue of unselfish modesty. The time is favorable–a time of strength within, clarity and culture without. Power is expressing itself in graceful and controlled way. This brings supreme success and wealth.

    The Image

Fire in heaven above: the image of Possession in Great Measure. Thus the superior man curbs evil and furthers good, And thereby obeys the benevolent will of heaven.

    Image Commentary

The sun in heaven above, shedding light over everything on earth, is the image of possession on a grand scale. But a possession of this sort must be administered properly. The sun brings both evil and good into the light of day. Man must combat and curb the evil, and must favor and promote the good. Only in this way does he fulfill the benevolent will of God, who desires only good and not evil.

    Hope this helps –

  23. Hi Sheena,

    as to your second question,

“Whether the last positive reading regarding my love life remains valid in the light of whatever i have communicated to you further in this message?”

It is seen as bad form to ask the I the same question twice. Believe me I know it is tempting. That reading would have been for that particular time. If you followed what the I suggested then you should be in a more favourable position. Hope you can understand.

Hope this helps – and if you have any further questions do not hesitate..

    • Dear pharaoh,
Many thanks and sorry for asking the same question twice..will help me in future to know this is in bad form!!!! I am so glad to get your reading for my ‘psychiatric’ problems: it is particularly good to be cued into the need to distinguish between what us or is not for the good…May i ask if my relationship with my friend will flower and flourish after a temporary and transitional period of difficulties and obstructions which we will overcome? With regards and gratitude – sheena

      • Hi Sheena,

again I feel like we already asked that question. You got the hexagram Enthusiasm. May I suggest you read that again. I know it is a difficult Hexagram to fathom.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

        aum

  24. Dear pharaoh,
I want to know whether i will need to sacrifice being in an intimate and close companionship for life with my friend in order to align myself with participation in the group of which he appears to be the centre to serve the greater and common good that unites and motivates the group? A second related question is whether my friend is already in or is inclined towards an intimate partnership with someone else in or outside the group, which is the reason for his coldness towards me? And finally , a third query is whether i will do well to leave the group rather than remain in it without the fulfilment of my desire of union with my friend, the prospect of which is already causing extreme sadness and even bitterness and despair in me that are very difficult to cope with? And if this is not too much – i wonder if my friend is testing me and also giving me an opportunity to prove to his perhaps skeptical associates that i am not simply pursuing a narrow personal agenda but am committed to the common aims of the group, .by keeping the more personal.forms of interaction in abeyance temporarily, or if it is an expression of the preferred way of relating with me which he would like me to accept in an enduring way, if i wish to remain with the group? Needless to say , in either case, the absence of clear communication and understanding between us is rather disturbing for me….and so….the very last query : is: rather than expect the iching to provide an answert to the last query will it be revealed by the furrther unfolding of events or would it be better for me to attempt to gain clarity by asking my friend directly to tell me what is the case?

I hope i am not being too demanding and annoying!
    With regards,
    Sheena

    • Dear pharaoh,
I did not get a reply to my last question.Any reason for not replying?
Things are still in flux – and i am still unclear about the aspects noted in the last question.would be grateful to have your response. The only development which is as recent as last night is a phone call from my friend – he said he had ‘accidently’ pressed my no.(!) which was refreshing in that i found i was able to converse about various topics with a feeling of ease and a longing for a friendship that seemed to be responded to in a way that is perhaps unusual – that is, with long stretches of silence – where i found myself talking to him as i hsve not to anyone for a long time – about personal and health issues but also about my thpughts about various common interests and my wish to know why there seemed little progress in our interaction in those activities and if he finds any thing meaningful in what i seemed to think was a common area and one which need not be an imposition and if i could find a normsl space and way of communicating before i leave it all vague and only a matter of speculation…I was glad the conversation was not at all unpleasant and even friendly and good humoured….There was a sense of something to wait for in the future and i frlt at ease and happy with our interaction after a very very long time! I am generally less anxious but also still wondering if this really is a sign of something meaningful…All else remains the same as in the last question.would be really grateful to have your response! Regards- sarita vihar

      • Hi Sheena (Sarita Vihar), It seems somehow your question posted on September 15th went unnoticed.

Maybe you could precis your questions down to a single question? It takes quite some time and effort to do a single reading. To ask five questions seems a tad unreasonable to me.

From this side your situation is quite confusing.

        Hope you are well,

        Kind regards,

        aum

      • Thanks, pharaoh! Sorry to have been unreasonable with too many questions and also to have conveyed things in a confusing way.
My question really is: will my relationship with a person who i am still in touch with but without any face to face interaction since over the last month or more, become the close life companionship and partnership, including a participation in activities of common interest based on shared aims and values along with other team members, that i have long desired it to be? This is against the background of a hesitation to commit on his part, though expressed as being undecided rather than a clear refusal, and his encouragement for me to make the use of professional help to deal with a condition of depression that has been diagnosed as being chronic, which i am getting after a series of trial and error interactions with therapists and analysts. And in this context, i have had the misfortune, simultaneously, of a kind of hostility and indifference on the part of my family of siblings and their spouses, and nieces and nephews, which has seriously undermined the progress of my getting rid of the depression and which has in fact been complicated and compounded by what for me is a rather unexpected and shocking realisation of an absence of emotional support from any source that is trustworthy and steady. It is this that makes me wonder if there is the possibility of a regeneration of my relationship with my erstwhile partner , even after a series of upsetting ups and downs, but which for me is still a reservoir of feelings of emotional attachment, attraction, a hope for a friendship that may have gone sour temporarily and may therefore return with affection, and if i may say so, love, which i on my part do have for this person .
I hope this is an improvement on my earlier attempt to ask you about my current concerns and pressing life issues! With regards- saritavihar

      • 🙂 Ok Sheena, that is better, but please try to now simplify your question down to the barest of elements.

For example, if I was in this type of scenario, I might phrase my question thusly:

“Beautiful Tao of love, please guide me on ‘Name of person.'”

Simple questions work best with this style of divination.

Sounds like you are going through some challenging times.

Hope things start to get better for you.

        aum

    • Apologies for the delay..

The Tao has answered with Hexagram number 56 The Wanderer.

      Above Li the Clinging, Fire

      Below Ken Keeping Still, Mountain

      Introduction
The mountain, Ken, stands still; above it fire, Li, flames up and does not tarry. Therefore the two trigrams do not stay together. Strange lands and separation are the wanderer’s lot.

      Judgement
The Wanderer. Success through smallness. Perseverance brings good fortune to the Wanderer.

      Judgement Commentary
When a man is a wanderer and stranger, he should not be gruff nor overbearing. He has no large circle of acquaintances, therefore he should not give himself airs. He must be cautious and reserved; in this way he protects himself from evil. If he is obliging toward others, he wins success. A wanderer has no fixed abode; his home is the road. Therefore he must take care to remain upright and steadfast, so that he sojourns only in the proper places, associating only with good people. Then he has good fortune and can go his way unmolested.

      The Image
Fire on the mountain: The image of The Wanderer. Thus the superior man is clear-minded, cautious in imposing penalties and protracts no lawsuits.

      Image Commentary
When grass on a mountain takes fire, there is bright light. However, the fire does not linger in one place, but travels on to new fuel. It is a phenomenon of short duration. This is what penalties and lawsuits should be like. They should be a quickly passing matter, and must not be dragged out indefinitely. Prisons ought to be places where people are lodged only temporarily, as guests are. They must not become dwelling places.

No moving lines, just the single hexagram.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions about this reading, please do not hesitate to ask.

      aum

  25. hello, I am feeling very emotionally worked up and insecure.will the person I Hope will come to me and offer his Love do that?
